Biography:
William Weems, M.D. comes to McHenry County as a founding member of Town Square Anesthesia, LLC. He was born and raised in the southern suburbs of Chicago. During his residency, Dr. Weems developed a special interest in cardiothoracic anesthesia while performing clinical research in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard School of Medicine.
Dr. Weems is a member of the American Board of Anesthesia, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists. From 2000 to 2002, Dr. Weems instructed anesthesiologists on the latest techniques in TransEsophageal Echocardiography while serving as a Junior Instructor at the National Board of Echocardiography.
Besides providing safe and effective anesthetics, Dr. Weems remains actively involved in volunteerism. “I believe community service to be important because it offers the opportunity to give back to others as well as providing a sense of self”. Dr. Weems is an active member of Chicago Health and Minority Medical Programs, Big Brothers/Big Sister of McHenry County, and Link Unlimited. Recently, he has joined Health Talents International where he traveled to Central America to promote medical evangelism and provide anesthesia for a variety of surgical cases. A three-time varsity letterman in inter-collegiate athletics, Dr. Weems now enjoys a casual round of golf, exercising, and watching his two children play tennis and baseball.
