Dr. Mackavich attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physiology, College of Natural Science. He then decided to pursue a career in medicine and matriculated at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. Upon graduation from KCOM, he embarked on an internal medicine specialty track internship at St. John Oakland Hospital in Michigan. During his internship year Dr. Mackavich became interested in anesthesiology and secured a residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Since successfully completing his residency, Dr. Mackavich has worked in both in-patient and ambulatory settings. HIs patients are at the core of his focus, while his meticulous nature enables him to provide them with excellent and safe care. When not practicing anesthesia, Dr. Mackavich enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
